Taking Responsibility For Your Own Happiness
Something that got me thinking from I book I have been reading recently was being committed and motivated to feeling positive and happy. You are the only one responsible for your own happiness and it takes effort and time to develop a more positive mindset.
Reading a self-help/motivating book, eating healthy and doing exercise is not suddenly going to make you a happier person. Sure, they can boost your mood temporarily, but you have to practice what you read and put the advice into action to have long lasting results. You have to constantly look after your body through eating a balanced diet and exercising regularly. You have to consciously be aware of all the things you are putting into action and be truly committed to treating yourself kindly. Here are just a few things that have helped me take responsibility for my own happiness.
Develop positive self-talk
This is something I try to do daily and whenever I catch myself being a little hard on myself, I talk to my self positively with positive statements like - you are doing the best you can, I can do anything I put my mind to, you are loved, unique and irreplaceable. If you practice positive self-talk on a daily basis, it will become second nature and just happen automatically when that mean chatter comes in. Developing positive self-talk can be hard when you really believe the negative chatter, but you have to understand that you are not your thoughts and you can always choose to be happy and listen to the positive thoughts, because who doesn’t want to be happy.
Stop comparing yourself to others
Someone else’s life is none of your business. All that matters is your life and what you’re doing. There is no one youer than you, so be that awesome person you are. Stop believing other people are better than you or are doing more amazing things than you, because you are your own person with your own life, with your own goals and successes that can never be matched. Be proud of who you are and all that you do!
Vibration attracts like vibration
Whether you believe in The Law of Attraction or not, putting out positive energy through your thoughts or actions are always going to have a positive effect on you. But you have to have an open mind about spirituality, Source Energy, God, whatever you want to call it if you are working on developing yourself. There is an energy within and around all of us, and when we become aware of this energy and develop a relationship with it, magic can start to happen. “All energy vibrates at a certain frequency. Which means you’re vibrating at a certain frequency, and everything you desire and don’t desire, is also vibrating at a certain frequency.” You are manifesting whatever you are feeling, thinking and doing. You are attracting energy to yourself, good or bad, whether you realize it or not.
“You need to raise your frequency to match the vibration of the one you want to tune into.”
If you are wanting more of something in your life, you need to believe you already have it. “In order to truly raise your vibration, you’ve got to believe that everything you want is available to you. And the best way to keep this belief strong is by staying connected to Source Energy.” You also need to take decisive action to match your energy. You can’t manifest what you want by just thinking about it. You have to get clear on what it is you want, stay connected to Source energy and take decisive action to make it happen.
You have the power to create a better life. You can be happy. It just takes work and commitment. Once I started to believe in myself and feed my mind with more positive thoughts, it became easier to be happy with the person I was and who I was becoming. Be more present and stop worrying about the past and the future. I know this sounds corny, but the only time we have is now, and if we just stop every now and then and feel our heart beating, our chest rising up and down with each breath and just connect with ourselves, that’s when you can really connect with yourself and raise your frequency to attract all of the wonderful things you want in your life. “The more time you spend in the moment, the richer your life will be.” Be grateful for this moment and make the most out of it.
